SEEBALD. has been able to realise several projects for HAKRO over the years. In 2025 came a small commission that nonetheless allowed for plenty of creative freedom: a smokers' shelter.

Rather than a plain bus-shelter box, it was meant to stand out and invite people to linger. In bright red, with a deep cantilevered sawtooth roof, it lights up the company grounds, reinforced by geometric fixtures that glow, distorted, through the polycarbonate panels and turn the shelter into an eye-catcher after dark, too.

A speaker and a heater add further comfort, so a quick smoke break can easily turn into a longer stay.
